What's Making My Life Right Now

What's Making My Life Right Now

For this inaugural post of CLH, I thought it would be pretty fitting to kick off with a few things that are currently making all the difference for me in this new year of 2019. Don’t expect your typical life changing things, think more small, ground up stuff.

First up, I’ve heard a l i t t l e about this before, and now I really just know enough to sound like I actually know nothing, but BULLET JOURNALING. Maybe you’re already into this, I’m for sure late to this party! Why? Well, for as long as I can remember I’ve had a weird fascination with all things paper. This is the worst because at any given time I can have lists, ideas, & notes all running the spectrum of importance in around 4-6 notebooks/journals at a time! So, this approach has given me permission to just keep it all in one place. Thaaaaank goodness.

My to do list for tomorrow can go right beside hashing out the brainstorming session I had with myself in the car on the way home from the grocery store. It. Doesn’t. Need. To. Be. Separate. In fact, it’s so much better that they’re not. It helps me set aside the tendency to compartmentalize my life when I’m leaning into how everything flows out of each other.

So good.

Second would be Peach-Pear La Croix. Tastes so much like that delicious pear drink at Ikea, (ha!) and if I’m wanting to indulge and ditch the 0 calories one night, I just add a splash of simple syrup. Pure Goodness. Light and dreamy.

Lastly would just be taking the pressure off January. I’m trying to think more in terms of seasons this year and be intentional for goals for each one. But also embracing that I want my life, home, rhythm, schedule to take some notes from the earth and it’s seasonal rhythms, too.

Specifically this is looking like going beneath the surface and working on some things that may not be totally visible on the outside. I’m applying this to personal growth, professional growth, etc.

I’m also excited about the idea of changing out little pieces of our home decor as the seasons bring new and different colors around us. Read: most things are pretty monotone around here for now and I’m all about it, especially after all the Christmas hubbub (which I love, but was so ready to be done with by December 27th this year). Obviously there’s always the seasonal “holiday” decor that comes all year long, but I’ve been thinking how I can subtly change the feel of each room with different artwork, curtains and other seemingly staple elements that correspond with the changing seasons. So pumped.

What’s making your life right now?! I want to know so it can make mine!

We’re so excited to be here in this new space and can’t wait to share more of what we have coming your way! We’re especially grateful you’re here, too.
